To get a passport I need to fill in an application form, provide photographs, get the photographs and application form signed by an upstanding member of the community who has also bought a passport, provide my full birth certificate that my parents had to pay for, pay for my own passport, pay someone in the Post Office to check the form over to make sure that it’s right, have the Identity and Passport Service then check the electoral register and suchlike to confirm that my identity actually exists, then most likely have to take time off work to travel another town to have an interview “conducted in a friendly manner” to confirm that I am in fact, me. This is all just to get off the island. Fuck this shit, I’m going to walk into the sea and see where I end up. Will that make me an illegal emigrant?
